My Name is Lina and I am 39 years old. I moved from Colombia to the USA 11 years ago. I obtained my BA in Early Childhood Education specializing in Spanish. Upon completing my degree, I worked for 5 years in Colombia, in primary and secondary school, K-8. I have babysat for the past 7 years and love the one-on-one interaction. I have accumulated a great deal of experience with toddlers and elementary-aged children, which I've really enjoyed. I am very punctual, and respectful, and I have a lot of experience with different family situations. Spanish is my first language and I enjoy teaching it to the kids I take care of. I need to make a difference in their lives by helping them learn a second language. I have worked and lived with 2 American families, their kids were 2, 4, and 6 years old, one year in Washington DC and the other in NY during 2015 I cared for newborns until December. Lina has been taking care of our now 15 month old daughter, two/three full days per week, for the last 8 months.  

She is remarkably dependable.  By remarkable, I mean she has not been absent, or even late ever.  Further, when she has plans, she not only let's us know well in advance, she also made arrangements for her replacement while she is away.  We now are familiar with a backup caregiver for our child.

We have also asked that Lina only speak Spanish from the moment she enters the house until she leaves so our daughter is comfortable with another language at a young age.

We hired Lina to care for our 3 month old daughter. She is great with kids, reliable and would rehire her in a heartbeat!

Lina is a wonderful caregiver to my newborn son. It has given me such ease to go back to work knowing that he is in her care. We had trouble with the bottle and naps but Lina never saw that as a challenge just that the little one needed extra attention in these areas. She worked with us to get these things on track. She takes him to story time, out for daily walks, reads sings and plays with him. She works on tummy time and all the age appropriate skills that he needs. I literally can't say enough about her!

Lina was our nanny for a year for our 4 month old and our 3 year old....she was amazing!  She had a schedule set for each of my girls, with the 4 month old having massage time (her favorite) and the 3 year old learning Spanish.  She played with them, connected with them, and truly became part of our family.  She was incredibly dependable, and would follow any instructions given (even the not so fun ones of having to administer a Nebulizer for a baby who did NOT like it, but she found ways to make it more enjoyable for her).  They did crafts all of the time and I had such a peace of mind leaving for work knowing that my kids were being well taken care of and loved!  We miss her!

Lina by nature is a very happy, bubbly, and a mature person. She loves to laugh, dance and see everything in a positive light. Her personality helped keep our children leveled. She can get on their level and connect with them. My children loved and respected her!

I met Lina about three years ago in an Au Pair agency. She has always been outstanding in her job as a babysitter. Her host family and their children love her a lot. She has always been characterized as a very responsible, patient, knowledgeable, mature, playful, and trustworthy woman. One of the things I like the most from Lina, is her love and warmth for children. This is definitely one of her strongest skills. In addition, Lina is very talented and passionate in what she does. Since she is an elementary school teacher, she has the experience necessary for taking good care of kids. She was working for me some months, I have 3 kids at home and they miss her and ask me about her a lot. She was very responsible and punctual. She helped them with homework and the duties they are in charge. I totally recommend her for this kind of job.

I know Lina because she was good friends with our Au pair of 2 years.  We saw Lina frequently at our home and she was always courteous and responsible when she was in our home.  She would often sit and play with our children when waiting for our Au pair to be ready to go out. At the time, our children were ages 1 years old - 2 years old and 3 years old - 4 years old.  Our kids always enjoyed seeing Lina and playing with her.  My son would sometimes ask when she was coming to visit our Au pair! Lina had a good relationship with the family whose children she was a nanny for when we knew her. We continue to have a live in Au pair, but if the situation were different, I would be happy to have Lina take care of our children.  I believe she is responsible, caring, and would do a good job with taking care of your children.
