About Lilian

For the past three years, I've worked as a writing tutor at Williams College. I tutor four to six college students a week on writing essays across disciplines. In my sessions, I advise students on writing and editing strategies at any stage of the essay-writing process and connect them to the many resources available at Williams. I have also worked with ESL students on their writing. Working one-on-one with students is something I've found to be incredibly fulfilling, especially working with writing, which I love. I take a gentle yet direct tutoring approach and offer guidance without telling my students what to do. I see tutoring as a process of learning together, and I try to offer whatever guidance I can from what I have learned from my own education. I majored in Literature, which means that I wrote countless papers myself; I also took many electives at my liberal arts school, so I am familiar with many subjects, including math, biology, environmental studies, and art history.
