I am the oldest of my grandmother's 23 grandchildren, so I started out early on, caring for little ones. In high school, I babysat, and volunteered at a school for children with cognitive development challenges. At 18 I started working as a preschool assistant at a school in Orange County. Then I was a nanny for a couple of years for a little boy, starting when he was 7-months old. That little boy is now a college professor! I then worked as a preschool assistant again while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Eventually, I received my 12 ECE units and worked as a lead preschool teacher and assistant at a school in Temecula, where I now work as a substitute. While working with preschool children, I also earned my elementary teaching credential and worked as a substitute in the school district for a time and tutored students as well.
