About Lia

I've been raised with pets since the day I was born (mostly cats), but have also had smaller animals too. I was a volunteer with Animal Friends in Pittsburgh since 1999 as a cat handler and dog walker. I also participated in the Foster program at Animal Friends and Animal Rescue League. Generally I would take in litters of kittens (sometimes with, sometimes without their mothers) who were too young to be adopted. I would nurture and socialize them until they were ready to go back. I'm also certified in Advanced Handling, which means I can handle dogs and cats who are more difficult to handle. I have also done Pet Therapy which is taking animals to senior care facilities to let them socialize with the animals. I have 2 cats of my own right now and would love taking care of some more!
