I witnessed first hand the extraordinary care Leo provided to a dear friend of mine. My friend was a quadriplegic with diabetes and many other serious illnesses who needed extraordinary care round the clock. Leo was able to assist the doctors and nurses at such a high level that the medical professionals were in awe of him, trusting him with care well beyond what we saw with any other aide. But beyond his really incredible skills with every aspect of my friend's physical needs, Leo was a caregiver who combined hands-on care with love and even inspiration. I have no doubt at all that that Leo added many joyful years to my friend's life. But here is what says it all about Leo as a caregiver: Everyone who witnessed Leo caring for our friend, including healthcare professionals, would eventually say. “I hope I have someone like Leo to take care of me someday.”
