I took care of my disabled parents in the last years of their lives. My mom had a stroke in 2008 and was then diagnosed with kidney failure in 2016. She passed away in 2019. My father was diagnosed with dementia in 2012. After my mom passed away, I took care of my dad until he passed away in 2023. I performed all sorts of care for them: bathing/dressing, medication management, transportation, bill paying/household management, food preparation, etc. I was their full-time caregiver.
