About Leigh

Leigh currently teaches first grade at Berkeley Carroll. She has been a head teacher for eight years, in 1st and 5th grade classrooms. Leigh also served as Assistant Principal and Principal in PreK-grade 6 public schools. Before coming to Berkeley Carroll, Leigh worked as an Literacy Instructional Coach, training teachers on best practices in reading and writing using the EL Education curriculum. Leigh's areas of tutoring expertise include early reading, phonics, writing, and math. She brings joy to learning through play and real-world contexts, while utilizing the science of reading and research-based instructional practices. Her goal is for her students to grow as confident, reflective people.
