I have always loved children and caring for them! I have had a lot of experience working with children, including children with special needs. I briefly babysat a 4-year-old who had a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder when I was in middle school. Last May I studied abroad in England where I interned as an assistant teacher in a preschool classroom-several of the children I worked with had learning disabilities. During part of my junior year and senior year in college I tutored an 11-year-old boy with ASD. I worked with him three times a week and helped him to complete his homework and preform tasks around the house such as cleaning his room. I also spent time with him doing fun things like going to the movies, going out to dinner, and doing arts and crafts. I am a very passionate person and care a great deal for other people and doing anything I can to make a positive impact in the lives of others- especially children!
