About Leah

Hello! I'm Leah, a recent graduate of BYU Neuroscience. I have been working with children of all ages since 2015, and have been an au pair in Madrid and Santander, Spain, as well as in Italy, where I helped to teach English. I have also worked with children from severe trauma backgrounds in Uganda and at an inpatient psychiatric treatment facility. I prefer working with children 7 and above, but have worked with infants and younger children, as well. As a nanny or babysitter, I love to let children explore and learn with minimal interruption. I don't think boredom is a bad thing, and rather than trying to entertain the kids, I would prefer to take them outside or interact with them in real-life situations, such as cooking, playing sports, running errands, going to the park, and doing chores. "Playing pretend" is not my favorite activity (and wasn't as a kid, either!) so I am probably not the best fit for children who frequently like to pull their caregivers into pretend play.
