About Layna

I started my senior experience taking care of my grandma when she fell ill in 2017. I didn't realize this was the beginning of something I had a passion for. She taught me so much during this time. When she moved into an assisted living facility, I got a job working there as a caregiver and worked there for two an a half years; caregiving and also working in the kitchen. I only left this job because I was having my first child. Shortly after that, I was offered an opportunity to take care of an elderly man in his home. I assisted him daily with hygiene and medications, as well as meal preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, and light house cleaning. We also took short outings occasionally and shared lots of great conversations, creating an everlasting bond.
