About Layla

Hi, I'm Layla! I recently graduated high school with my Cambridge AICE diploma. I've always enjoyed helping others (classmates, younger students, family members) work through concepts they found difficult. I am looking to work with students K-8 in any subject they may need help with. I personalize my approach to each student, whether that means connecting lessons to everyday life, breaking concepts into step-by-step processes, switching topics when they need a mental reset, or using hands-on activities to make learning more engaging. My goal isn't just to help students memorize enough to pass a test, I want them to genuinely understand what they are learning and help them find methods of learning that work for them. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and know that it is okay to not understand something right away. I also prefer to keep parents in the loop, updating them with progress and sharing ideas for them to reinforce the students learning at home.
