About Lawrence

My name is Larry. In 2012, I earned a magnum cum laude degree in English and History at Loyola University Chicago. The summer before beginning, I worked as a tutor for my intellectually disabled teenage cousin, teaching him how to perform basic operations with fractions. From sophomore year onward, I worked as a tutor at The University Writing Center and volunteered at The Adult Literacy Center. After college, I spent two years working as a theater critic in Chicago and Milwaukee. Four years ago, my wife and I moved to the suburbs, and I began working as a private tutor, mainly for middle and high-school students. In that time, I have tutored students in English, History, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Spanish, Biology, Earth Science, World Cultures, and Government. (Currently, my wife and I split our time between a house in Crystal Lake and an apartment in Hyde Park because she is in the last year of her Ph. D. program at the University of Chicago).
