I received a Bachelors degree in elementary education from California State University of San Marcos in the year 2000. Now, I am a mother of three awesome boys (they are all currently in college) I have been a scout leader, art substitute teacher. I was a nanny for 25+ years. My life has always been centered around children. I have worked with children having special needs, including my own son! I have been a longtime professional nanny for several families, all would love to personally give a reference. I am not of fan of screen time but love to go to storyhour at local libraries, parks, play areas and child centered activities. I like to go and see! I would like to work part time, but I'm flexible, depending on the family's needs. I have my resume and many letters of recommendations. I am allergic to cats but do kitten "bottle fed" fostering. I would love to meet you!

May 1, 2024 To Whom it May Concern, It is my pleasure to enthusiastically recommend Laurie for a child care position. Laurie took care of my two boys from the time they were 2 and 3 years old until they entered middle school when we had to move out of state. I have yet to encounter a more reliable, loving, and engaging care provider. Some of the services she provided were to pick them up from school, help them with homework, cook for and feed them, and provide stimulating activities that would keep them off of screens. Laurie accomplished these tasks and so much more. She quickly became a part of our family as she took on tasks way beyond our expectations such as volunteering in their elementary school classes, going on school field trips, supporting them through school projects, and advocating for them if problems came up at school. The thing that made me feel so good about trusting Laurie completely was that I always knew she truly loved my children. In turn, the children loved her! She was always coming up with fun and engaging activities and games for them. We were in awe of her creativity when it came to engaging them as toddlers and as older kids. Laurie also has experience with children with special needs. One of my sons has ADHD which affects his learning and executive function, and Laurie always knew how to compassionately and lovingly support him in tough moments. In fact, both of my children learned appropriate social behaviors of kindness and empathy from Laurie. She was able to teach them these qualities while also setting clear boundaries and expectations for behavior. In short, any children who get to have Ms. Laurie in their lives are going to benefit tremendously from her care, lessons, compassion and empathy. We still consider her a part of our family and always will. I highly recommend her for any childcare position. Sincerely, Marsha B.
