About Laurie

Laurie has been one of the absolute best nannies we have ever had, we were very lucky to find her. As a mom and grandma she came with a wealth of experience right from the start, in addition to other nanny experience. Our 3 (eventually 4) year old daughter felt extremely comfortable with Laurie from day 1, and Laurie was very happy to take and apply our suggestions and feedback from previous nanny experience, which was also rare. Laurie was extremely creative when playing with our daughter, consistently coming up with things that were also educational or aligned with what she was learning in preschool. Often they would take a wagon to the park, or play outside and come up with new things to do regularly. Occasionally she would bring an activity from home to switch things up or ask us for typical household items to do something fun and inventive she researched. Towards the later part of our partnership we felt safe enough to let Laurie take our daughter in our car to various parks or other fun nearby activities and she was happy to share her location with us on her phone and provide her driving record. One great example of how creative she is: we bought our daughter her first Power Wheels car and we live in a cul de sac. Laurie took the time to draw a massive play road in the the cul de sac with chalk complete with drawn trees and parking etc to keep her busy for hours, and make the activity that much more fun and educational for her. She was also great with snack time and handling our transition to using the potty, and was great about sending us photos every day of her having fun and learning. I cannot recommend Laurie enough for your nanny, the only reason we are no longer working full time with her is due to our daughter's school going to full time days starting this summer. We will still hire Laurie as much as possible for random hours or date nights etc until she starts full or part time with a new family. Happy to provide a reference for Laurie anytime as well!
