About Lauren

I have been working with children with autism for 10 years full time. After nannying for a child with autism I went on to become a behavioral therapist in Wisconsin with an ABA provider and started my career in this wonderful field. I moved to Cary in the summer of 2013 and worked in an AU2 classroom in Wake County as a teaching assistant for 2 years. I then was lead teacher in an AU2 classroom in Wake County for 3 years. I currently work as a home school teacher for a family. I have worked with ages 3-18 and dozens of children and families. My passion and special skill sets include intensive ABA data collection and interventions for self-injurious, destructive, aggressive, attention-seeking, obsessive-compulsive, and anxiety-driven behaviors. I seek to understand the function of the child's behavior, then use research based strategies to shape the behavior and instead provide the child with appropriate communication skills to access what they want/need.
