About Lauren

I have experience pet-sitting/caring for big and small dogs, cats, birds, and wildlife. I also have had minimal experience with horses. Especially in the past two years, animal advocacy, rescue and care-giving have become a huge part of my life. I have mostly taken care of my own/foster pets a my family members' and neighbors animals. My dog was a 16-year-old special needs Italian Greyhound who became an amputee at 15! Merlin had cancer, heart disease, epilepsy, and eventually three legs, but he lived a full life until he died in February. I also take care of 6 domestic ducks and 2 cats. Now I would like to put my knowledge and experience to work as a pet-sitter. Having had pet-sitters myself, I know how important it is that exactly what you do will be done while you are away. I work hard to meet all the special needs of the animal and to think like the animal as much as possible! Attachment theory influences my views on pet-care too; right now I am sleeping on an air-mattress in an air-conditioned garage to help out a cat I love, and I would do the same for your pet
