About Lauren

Mizzou grad with a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences! During my college career, I had a strong focus on child development. I also hold a CFLE-p credential. A Certified Family Life Educator is well versed in working with children and their families. I have spent the past 7 years working with children. I spent multiple semesters in the University of Missouri Child Development Laboratory, working as a student teacher. In this role, I studied and recorded developmental milestones of the children, and used that to coordinate classroom activities. I also spent a semester in a child life practicum at MU health care. I observed and practiced techniques to provide pediatric patients with psychosocial support and distraction in a stressful environment. I now work part time at Children's Mercy hospital as a Patient Activity Coordinator. In this role I work with patients and families to provide developmentally appropriate play and promote typical development in the healthcare setting
