We love Lauren. She is fantastic with our baby, C, and amazing for my sanity. I have three kids and work from home, and Lauren started with us when DH was deployed, and baby C was 6 months old. *Godsend* I finally felt like I wasn’t drowning. Lauren did typical household chores for us like sweeping, laundry, dishes, made lunch, general tidying up, and picked up my middle kiddo from summer care. She’s fantastic at organizing - would do things like sort through C’s clothes to pull out things that were too small and needed to be kept/donated, updated seasonal wardrobes, helped me reorganize my kitchen cabinets - the sort of things that had a heavy mental load for me. Our family uses cloth diapers, does elimination communication, baby sign language, and baby-lead weaning - Lauren did all of it, and is a maven at sign language. My home is always in fantastic shape when Lauren is done watching C, and he absolutely adores her. She’s cheerful and engaging, sitting and interacting on his level, reading books, taking him outside to blow bubbles and go for walks, and is good at observing his cues and following his signals with his moods and interest/engagement during play. I have loved having Lauren with us - it’s a big *sigh* of relief when she’s with us.
