About Lauren

For the past 3 years I worked as a full-time English teacher for elementary and middle school students at an independent school, sharing my passion for thought-provoking literature, rigorous discussion, and writing as a fundamental skill and form of self-expression. Now, I'm pursuing an MA at Teachers College, Columbia University in Philosophy and Education to think more deeply about education and hone my teaching craft before returning to the classroom. I graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a degree in Philosophy and Neuroscience, after which I worked in editorial at The Atlantic magazine, and a neuroscience research lab. At the same time, I tutored and volunteered in public school classrooms in Washington DC, which ignited my love of teaching! When I'm not teaching or studying, I play electric guitar and enjoy drawing, writing fiction/poetry, running, birdwatching, and practicing yoga.
