Laurel is my sister, and an amazing person. I do not have any children, but once I do she is on the top of my list of people who I would trust with my future children. I know that is a typical answer for a family member, to choose your own family first, but that is not my only reason for that answer. Laurel has been working with children since her early teens. She started with baby sitting and swim lessons, moving on to taking care and interacting with her friends babies. Making a point of doing educational and creative projects with these budding young minds, just like our grandmother did with us. She takes great joy in making these children smile and laugh, even if doing so makes her look silly. In her early twenties she became a volunteer firefighter and learned basic life support and CPR to become certified as an EMT. She also goes to elementary schools to teach children about fire prevention and what to do in an emergency. These are all reasons why I would want this woman to watch my children, sister or not.
