About Laura

For over 10 years I have been teaching students of all ages and levels from around the globe. I have taught in NYC private international schools, in a classroom setting, to high level professionals, in Japan to multilingual 4-6-year-olds, and in China at a private university. The constantly changing challenges of teaching is what keeps things exciting for me! Clarifying the students goals, identifying the students learning style and creating a curriculum that meets those needs, that is engaging, is what I do for each of my students. Even when I went to work in the corporate world, I continued to teach privately. In 2011 I decided to get my CELTA certification from Cambridge, as I had never been formally trained. This was a great experience for me that gave me additional tools and structure to bring to the classroom. I also bring my experience working in film, photography, finance, media and environmental issues. Technology and media is also a key element in my class, whether we are using a new language App, playing a game or watching a movie. I love igniting someones passion to learn and I enjoy the creativity of creating a new curriculum for each student to achieve their goals.
