I started babysitting when I was 11. I also had a sister who was 12 years younger than me, so I've spent much of my life caring for children. I had an opportunity to nanny two teenage girls while I attended UW. In 1996, I started my own family. I have two children - a son and a daughter. I spent the better part of their childhood volunteering and/or working at their schools. I vowed I wouldn't take a FT position until both my kids graduated from high school. Well, I achieved that goal. They're both college graduates now. My son owns his own film production company. My daughter is an attorney. I applied at Care. com in January 2015. I've had the opportunity to nanny for 20+ families. I've cared for children of all ages ranging from 3 months to 17 years. In 2016, I decided to take a FT position. I was with them 4+ years until they moved in December 2020. Since then, I've embraced the next chapter of my life by focusing more on unique requests. I'm now back to entertaining all positions.

Laura is a lifesaver! She briefly provided overnight care for my 3 month old, who was going through a rough patch at the time - not eating well, not sleeping well, and suffering from a gnarly infection. Laura  proactively asked questions and seamlessly adapted to my baby’s routine and diligently cared for her, staying up the entire night a few times while still maintaining a positive attitude. She also provided detailed notes at handoff.  We are so grateful to have found her!

Our kids absolutely adore Laura, and honestly, so do we.  When we hired her at the start of the year, she quickly felt like part of our extended family, earning our trust in no time to care for our little ones. Laura truly has everything you’d hope for in a nanny:

She has this amazing ability to understand and appreciate both our daughter’s and son’s unique personalities and interests. They’re always happily engaged when she’s around—and honestly, they can’t wait for her next visit!
•	Safe and dependable: We’ve never had to worry about Laura being late or not showing up—she’s as reliable as they come.  And when it comes to safety, she’s incredibly mindful, like always ensuring the kids use booster seats when driving anywhere.  It’s such a relief knowing they’re in good hands.
•	Great communicator: Laura keeps us in the loop, sharing updates and letting us know what the kids are up to.  We’ve always known where they were and what they were doing, which gave us so much peace of mind.
Laura has been beyond perfect for our family, and we’d wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone warm, caring, and trustworthy to look after their kids.  She’s not just an amazing nanny; she’s become part of our family.  We’re forever grateful for the wonderful care she’s given to our children.

Laura worked as a full time nanny for my children for 5 years- from the time they were 1 and 7 years old until they were 6 and 12.  She was a skilled provider for all of these ages and grew into what our family needed as our children grew.  
 
Laura is amazing at setting boundaries with children while being loving.  She worked with me when the kids were having difficulties to troubleshoot.  She always did things as I asked her to, but was willing to provide input from her 20+ years of child-rearing when asked.   Laura is responsible and reliable- I cannot remember her ever missing a day of work during our time together.  She is organized and kept the kids schedules running (often better than me).  She was always willing to go above and beyond, helping out with whatever household tasks needed to be done, often without being asked.  She is an excellent driver and would trust her with my children and my car.
 
Most importantly, my children love her dearly and she loves them!

Laura is always incredibly reliable and responsive. My kids love her, and she's always happy to do whatever I ask of her. It is such a relief to have a caregiver about which I have zero concerns   I can leave my kids with her any time and know that they are safe, loved, and having fun! She goes out of her way to pitch in around the house and make herself a part of the family. She receives my highest recommendation!

I have absolutely no worries when Laura is taking care of my kids.  Her judgment is very reliable; just what you'd expect from the experienced Mom she is (I've met her kids and they are awesome). Laura has been my regular part-time help with my newborn daughter and date-night night/overnight baby-sitter. She has been outstanding with my two small kids: one infant (newborn to 10-month od) and one toddler (3 years old). I am extremely picky about who I leave my kids with to the point that I am not comfortable leaving them with some close family and friends, but I am always at ease when they are with Laura. She is extremely responsible, dependable, punctual and adaptable. I always find her prioritizing the right things: keeping kids safe, comfortable, happy and secure. I highly recommend her.

I have known Laura for at least 10 years. Our sons played sports together for many years and I stood or sat next to Laura at dozens of practices and games. Through that affiliation, our families became very close and we've celebrated major holidays together as well as the highs and lows of life. My firm, recently hired Laura as a tax temp as I knew from personal experience her high level of integrity and work ethic. She is one of those people who will always make the best of a situation, loves to learn something new, and can make anything fun. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a diligent, hardworking, employee who will bring a very positive attitude to her workplace.

Laura is a friend and member of my family. As an active volunteer, I've worked with her on many programs and projects for almost four years and watched her handle professional and personal situations with grace, confidentiality, compassion, honesty, humor and great attention to detail. 

Laura goes the extra mile to ensure things are well done, and prefers no accolades for her "behind the scenes" accomplishments. As an extremely dependable person and excellent communicator, she is known for her dedication to serving her community and the world. Laura worked for and with me for four years in a church.  She is incredibly loyal, has a fabulous work ethic, does not make mistakes and is extremely mature. She is a generalist, and can do almost everything. I have had the privilege of watching her with her own kids. They are well adjusted and exercise stability on a daily basis. I highly recommend her.
