I am a dedicated nurturer and long-time preschool teacher. I am dedicated to staying up to date with the best practices for supporting children's development. I practice what are often called "gentle parenting" strategies such as guiding children through how to calm themselves and work through their challenges and disputes. Children need to know that all emotions are okay and there are ways to express those emotions that are more productive and not destructive. Through my work as a forest school teacher, I saw firsthand how children learn and thrive best in nature so I love bringing children outside to explore in all kinds of weather. Laura spent the 2020-2021 school year teaching and caring for our son and 3 other high-energy 5-6 year old boys. She is an amazing teacher and was able to make a tough year (thanks, Covid) a really unforgettable learning experience for our son and our family. I still text/call her when I have a question about education or behavior. She is professional, warm, and creative. We are grateful for the year we had with her.
