Hi! I'm Laura, a caregiver with experience supporting children ages 9 months to 9 years across families of diverse backgrounds in NYC. I hold a Master's in International Education from Columbia University and previously interned with Sesame Workshop. I like working with kids because they help you stay fully in the present and allow you to stay curious. I'm looking for a job that is ideally full-time with a supportive and communicative family. I started working with kids when I was 15 at a day camp and a few years later I was an au pair for a summer in Italy. In my spare time, I like to go to the New York Botanical Garden, and play with my rescue cat, Smokey. One thing you should know about me is that I like to let children guide playtime. I am great at getting kids to sit down and eat! I am also skilled at getting them down for a nap.

Laura is wonderful with kids. My toddler son took to her right away; she’s communicative, caring and receptive to feedback. I especially like that Laura knows all of the popular kids songs and stories and shows - kids around her are always delighted with her Cookie Monster impression. And she sure knows how to wrangle any toddler when it comes to naps and bedtime and all routines. She has a calm nature, is on-time and would be a wonderful addition to any family.
