My name is Latoya and I am an energetic and compassionate individual looking for part-time childcare opportunities. I have a strong passion for engaging and exploring with children and youth and believe childcare can take many forms. I love taking children on excursions and engaging in interactive play to expand their imaginations. Typical childcare responsibilities such as meal preparation, changing diapers (cloth and standard), preparing meals, assisting with bedtime and bathroom routines, reading books and overseeing/participating in play activities and helping with/overseeing homework and other educational activities. I have worked with infants, toddlers, adolescents and teenagers. I have two nieces (ages 2-5) and two nephews (ages 2-8) who I help raise. I taught after-school youth development programs at Martin Luther King Middle School in Berkeley, CA for two years. I have also worked as a college instructor in the disciplines of Ethnic Studies, Anthropology and Women Studies. I am adept at handling private issues and maintaining confidentiality. I am able and willing to adapt to the disciplinary styles that parents implement to maintain consistency. I am happy to assist with homework and transporting children to and from activities and preparing meals. I have a safe driving record and reliable transportation. If you are looking for an excellent caregiver, look no further. LaToya was such a great nanny to our 3 children. We hated to let her go due to employment circumstances here at home. As soon as the interview process was over, we knew that we wanted LaToya to be the person to watch over our kids. LaToya provided excellent daily communication. Daily chats after work were a nice way to hear about the day and answer any questions or address any concerns. She was sure to ask how we wanted things handled and if a new situation came up during the day, she was sure to let us know how she handled it and asked if we would like those types of things handled differently in the future. We never had a problem with her following instructions that were given. It didn't take long for a relationship to develop between her and our family. She was a loving person and cared very much for our children, and they truly enjoyed having her here. She was always punctual for arrival times and gave plenty of advance warning if she needed to leave or be late. If our situation were different, we would still have LaToya here today. We were very sad to see her go. She was a positive presence in our family and we were blessed for the time we had with her. Thank you LaToya.
