About Lara

This letter of recommendation is in regards to a colleague of mine, Lara R. I have known Lara for approximately 10 months, as I have taught with her at a nursery School in Roslyn, New York. I am a Special Education Behavior Therapist and I am working as a teacher for three students in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom in which Lara is an assistant teacher. Working with Lara, my students and their peers have obtained great success. Lara works closely with me to insure that our students with IEPs are getting the necessary instruction that is vital to their classroom academic, social and emotional performance. Lara collaborates with me, on a daily basis, to be aware of the progress that these children are making. Various techniques and strategies have been recommended to Lara to incorporate into our student's instruction, which she eagerly and readily accepts. Lara has learned and utilized differentiated instruction, behavioral reinforcement and consequence systems, and various teaching methodologies. She utilizes theories and techniques that she learned in class and applies them to our classroom. As an experienced Special Educator for over 25 years, I have had the opportunity to work with many teachers. It is my strong opinion that Lara is one of the most effective, nurturing and creative teachers that I have known. She is consistent in her ability to participate in our team, to create a learning environment that is rich in excellent instruction for each individual student in her class and to give each child the personal instruction needed for success. In addition, Lara is a very dedicated, hard worker. Her personality is smart, gentle, kind, patient, understanding, funny and she is full of energy! I would greatly recommend Lara as an outstanding young teacher.
