My personal experience nursing my brother during his protracted battle with cancer, and subsequent hospice care, has made me incredibly attuned to family needs during such a sensitive time. After his death, I devoted myself to the care of cancer victims and have been passionately involved as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for the past 20 years. I have also worked as a volunteer for the Suicide Prevention non-profits in Southern California. I have also regularly served as primary caregiver for elderly family members, and friends, often on a live-in basis.
