We hired Kyla to care for our 8 month old two days per week. We were very optimistic of working with Kyla and we were excited to have found a great fit for our family. We were even accommodating of a delayed start date although that put significant strain on our family in the short term. Fast forward to her first day, things went relatively well. I work from home full time and blocked a significant amount of my day to ensure I provided Kyla with the hands on support she needed to get to know my daughters schedule. Before the next time she was scheduled, I texted her the night before to confirm timing of her arrival and she responded and agreed. However, the next day she didn't show up. She did not communicate that she would not be coming and I've yet to receive any response to my numerous texts and voicemail. This made for an extremely stressful day. I've since taken the opportunity to reach out to her place of work that she shared with me during the interview process as I was concerned for her well-being. They confirmed she has been in. All of this to say, our experience with Kyla has been incredibly disheartening. It's a really big deal to welcome someone into your home to spend time with your child and this experience has left me feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed.
