Kyah is our Mary Poppins. I do not use the term lightly, she is the perfect caregiver for our kids. Kyah is a reliable. She is on time, gives notice of absences early and is communicative about her needs. She is also trustworthy and honest. For example we added her to our credit card account and she has never misused it. She has never changed plans about the kids in a way that we wouldn’t approve. She is an excellent driver. Kyah brings the exact right energy to our house. She is able to flex between mellow, low energy or playful, high energy depending on the kid’s needs and is intuitive about what is needed. She can be very energetic and boisterous and can play the role of the playful older sibling but the magic is that she has excellent boundaries and can switch back to the authority of caregiver in a way that my kids understand (despite their difficulty with social cues!). She always upholds the family rules and checks with us if she is unsure. She is exceptionally flexible with changes of plans, changes of the kid’s mood, and changes to the family’s needs. She is perceptive and excellent at seeing opportunities to help. She is cheerful and empathetic too.
