About Kristin
Experience: 10 yrs
I was an elementary education teacher for 7 years, and I have tutored for 10+ years with elementary age children in both regular and special education classrooms in language arts and math. Most of my teaching experience is in the public school system, but I did teach one year in a Christian school. I have had extensive training and experience in Wilson Learning System, an Orton Gillingham approach to reading and spelling. It emphasizes the mastery of phonics, but also the structure of the English language, its syllable types, prefixes and suffixes, and has been used to successfully help children overcome dyslexia. I also supplement with a variety of curriculums to meet the individual child's needs, and like to make learning fun.

Kristen was such a huge help with getting my daughter back on track for her English studies and grammar work. She helped her to get organized and really explained the curriculum clearly so she could understand the assignments. We enjoyed working with her over a year and a half
