About Kristin

I have been a special education teacher for 5 years and recently specialize in ASD and behavior analysis. Before teaching, I was a camp counselor and a teaching assistant at a school designed for kids with special needs. My favorite thing about working with kids, is how uniquely and creatively they can see the world and using that to help them learn or create fun activities that challenge their thinking skills. A focus of my teaching is helping students build skills to foster independence. Any moment can be a moment to allow a child to discover all the things they can do on their own. I offer support in navigating big feelings without taking away from their authority to feel. In my personal life, love to be outside and be active. I'm willing to offer help whenever and wherever I can. I'm not yet a parent, but I know how hard it can be to ask for help, especially trusting someone with the ones most precious to you.
