About Kj

My name is KJ (they/them) and I am a graduate student at Smith College School for Social Work. I am in Chicago completing my second year internship at Chicago Women's Health Center as a counselor. I completed my internship last year at a elementary school where I met individually with kids providing play and talk therapy as well as psychoeducation for my clients and their families. I have substantial experience working with neurodivergence and I take a child centered approach whether clinically or in my day-to-day relationships with children. I believe deeply in child autonomy and respect while also understanding the importance and safety created from clear boundaries and expectations. I also have extensive experience working and caring for infants -- am familiar with paced feeding, sleep training(or not), and value high emotional responsiveness/attunement. I am primarily hoping to find as-needed care work but am open to settling into a regular schedule for the right fit.
