About Kirsten

As an educator, children have been a core part of my career! Prior to receiving my undergraduate degree, I volunteered as a Girl Scout camp counselor and a club soccer coach, then worked as a paid swim instructor. During undergrad, I continued volunteering with club soccer, helping to coach and run summer soccer camps for Irvine Slammers FC (now Liverpool IA SoCal). After finishing undergrad, I worked for the LA Galaxy developmental academy for a year as an academic tutor for the high school-aged players. After this, I transitioned to a non-profit in Huntington Beach, where I ran informal education programs for just shy of 4 and a half years. In all of this, I have worked with children of varying ages for many years! Outside of my professional experience, I played soccer for much of my life (and am trying to get back into it!), love to read, play video games, enjoy time outside (hiking, birding, etc.), and am an artist on the side.
