Full Disclosure: Kim never actually cared for my kids. We interviewed and her reference raved about her, and she accepted our job offer, however on the first day she was supposed to work she informed me that she had to cancel that day to do something for her child (kids get sick, totally understandable). The next day she was supposed to work, she told me that her other job wouldn't let her leave in time to care for my kids (when we had already had a discussion about the times she would need to be picking my kids up from school). I've decided to look for a different caregiver. Poor organization. I would have appreciated her knowing her own availability better rather than having to cancel when I don't have time to find other care. I sincerely hope that she finds a way to communicate her own availability better to the next family she says 'yes' to. She will be a perfect fit with the right family for her, but I wish she would have made sure she could actually commit before accepting the job and then leaving me without care for my kids.
