About Kim

Experience: 5 yrs

Here is a little bit about me: I am a stay-at-home mom who has worked in child care for eight years. Children are my passion. I love kids, and kids love me. After working in a variety of child care facilities, I have discovered that there is no place like home. My goal is to be your child's home away from home. I am CPR certified. I have also discovered with my experience that a home care setting far exceeds the benefit of the child as well as the expectations of the parent. My goal is to give you and your child quality care you can trust. As a parent, I understand the apprehension of leaving your child in the care of someone or place that you don't know. My goal is to provide excellent care so that you as a parent can leave your child and know that he or she is cared for, as well as a place that your child can go to and be able to feel safe and loved. The following is some information about lessons: I do provide age-appropriate curriculum. However, it is not mandatory that your child sits with the rest of the children and be forced to do something that he/she is not interested in doing. In the event that your child does not wish to participate he/she will be given a task to "help the teacher" and pass out supplies to the other children, or find another activity that he/she prefers. My goal is to provide a structured environment without taking away from your child's independence, creativity or free will. I want your child to learn, but also I want your child to have as much free time as possible. We will do two "lessons" every day, as well as read books and sing songs. The following is information on outdoor play: I feel that a child needs and desires to be outdoors playing, and with weather promoting, we will play outside twice a day. The following is information about meals: I also provide meals for when your child is in my care. For standard 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours, your child will receive one nutritious snacks, as well as a hot lunch. Juice will be served with snack and milk will be served with lunch. I will provided all meals with no additional cost. If your child is not on table food, it is the responsibility of the parent to provide formula, baby food, or breast milk. Calendars with the upcoming meals will be provided on a monthly basis. In the event that your child is allergic, or simply does not like the meal provided, it will be the responsibility of the parent to provide a substitute. Please inform me to any allergies that your child has, including: bees, ants, medical, or food allergies. It is imperative that I am informed to all possible allergies as to not expose your child to the best of my ability. If your child is allergic, please provide me with the proper medicine with dosing instructions. In the event that your child is exposed to something he/she is allergic to, you will be phoned immediately. While in my care your child will be taught proper hygiene, manners, and respect for others and their space. We will talk about such things as washing hands before meals and after restroom breaks, as well as, sharing and saying yes ma'am, no ma'am, please, and thank you. I believe that setting an example is the best teaching method. Therefore, I will always respect your child and use common courtesy when making a request. Overnight and weekends: I provide a service to all parents to keep children over night and/or on the weekends. This service is provided because I understand that some parents work nights, or just simply have a date night planned. Because of space restrictions, I can only keep four kids at night and on the weekends. To be fair to all parents, I will watch your child on a first come first serve basis. In the event that your child does sleep over, I will need all numbers of the parent in order to reach you in case of an emergency. I cannot keep a child longer than 48 hours. I also welcome drop-in children. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I look forward to keeping your child or children.
