About Kevin

I have been a caregiver for most of my life. I say that for several reasons: I started doing childcare at the age of 10. I was very mature for my age. My father passed away suddenly when I was 5 years old and left my mother and three children five, 10, and 12 years old. We all had to come together and take on new jobs and roles. I did childcare with my mom's friends who had toddlers while they needed to go shopping or were away for a couple of hours. Later when I got older, a teen, this became a part-time job. I then went on at age 13 to help raise my two male nephews that lived in my home as a result of my brother becoming a very father at a young age. My mother was a nurse who educated us on the body and how to care for yourself and so we learned early on the importance of caring for your body. Eventually, we heard about her patients and their histories and how they were cared for and so it wasn't surprising that I was interested in studying medicine.
