Kenia has a great amount of experience and patience working with our baby during the short trial period to be a part-time nanny. We decided to part ways as she did not want to have taxes withheld (contrary to her profile on Care.com) which is illegal given the annual amount of pay she would have received would require an employer to file, pay and withhold payroll taxes. This occurred after agreeing on an hourly rate and communicating that her pay would be filed through a payroll service with payroll taxes withheld following the 3 day trial. As taxpayers, we're highly disappointed in this type of illegal behavior. This may be okay for date night sitters but definitely not okay for someone who claims this as a profession or full-time job.
