About Kelsey

I began tutoring in high school as a volunteer peer tutor. Since then, I've professionally tutored everything from English to Math to Science and held instructional positions in Physics at multiple institutions. I hold a BA in Physics with a minor in English & Creative Writing from UChicago. I'm currently pursuing a masters in Data Analytics and working part time as a substitute for FCPS. In my free time, I'm an avid reader. I also play the violin and am proficient in French. I enjoy tutoring because a 1-on-1 environment allows a more personalized approach to better suit student needs. I focus on creating a safe learning environment for students, encouraging them to ask questions and explore the concepts their own way. I distill complex information into bite sized pieces, adjusting to students' learning styles and background experiences. I have also worked successfully with students requiring accommodations for learning disabilities, particularly ADHD.
