About Kelly

I am a 2nd grade teacher in MCPS and have been teaching for 17 years. I have taught Kindergarten - 2nd grade, but have also tutored reading and writing up through high school. I'm a mom of two kids - 8 and 13. I love to get to know the child first- their personality, learning style, strengths and needs. I have taken a special interest in children with learning differences, partly because my son has struggled with dyslexia and ADHD, and because I love using my creative and empathetic skills to build a learning plan for children who think outside the box. I'm a strong believer in supporting kids with building their executive functioning skills in order to become a more confident and prepared student.
