Certified special education teacher. Skilled in the GSE standards for social studies from grades 6-12. Experience and success in teaching students with a variety of exceptional learning needs such as: dyslexia, dysgraphia, autism, ADHD, CVI, cerebral palsy, selective mutism, alternative and augmented communication, ocular blindness, MOID. Available weekends primarily, weekdays during school breaks. I'd describe my personality as outgoing, creative, and fearless. I like tutoring because I love the 1:1 relationship I can build with my students. I'm looking for a job that enables me to help support my further education (I am seeking a specialists degree soon) I started tutoring in 2013 when I realized that my previous job (museum/nonprofit management) was not financially stable. I also love teaching, but wasn't ready to go into the classroom full time. My skills include explicit note taking skills, text decoding, and informational writing skills.
