About Keila

I have many years of experience working with children of different ages and in different settings. I taught English as a Second Language in Brazil to children starting at age 7, and I also spent two years as an au pair. During my first year in Connecticut, I cared for three children (ages 1, 7, and 9), and during my second year in New York, I cared for two children (ages 8 and 12). I also volunteered for a month at a daycare in South Africa, where I worked with children between the ages of 1 and 5. I'm also comfortable around dogs. I have a 9 y/o yorkie that means the world to me. My au pair host family in New York has two dogs, one of whom had three legs. While I wasn't their primary caregiver on a daily basis, I regularly let them out into the backyard to go potty. Whenever my host family traveled, I was also responsible for feeding them, letting them outside, and making sure they were well taken care of. I'd describe my personality as patient, caring and empathetic.
