My first job was at a daycare center at my local Universal Unitarian church. I watched kids from 2 years old to 10 years old, and up to 10 kids at a time. I made wonderful connections and decided to pursue babysitting as a side gig for years to come. My most recent full time nanny job was with a family of three (single parent with two kids.) The ages ranged from 9 to 14. I worked with them for just about two years. It was my favorite job. I worked with the parent to structure engaging activities for the kids throughout the day. I was their transportation, their tutor, their assistant in the kitchen and around the house, as well as their ski/climbing/biking instructor. Outdoor recreation is one of my greatest passions. It was a joy to share that with the kids that I cared for. I also took them on overnight camping trips and served as their tour guide in London and Paris.
