I interviewed Kayla on the phone and she committed to a trial day of babysitting for two days later, agreeing to send me the name and number of a reference to call. From that phone call onward, she ceased responding to messages and voicemails and did not show up as planned. While I don't know the reason for her lack of response, if she didn't want to do the job, she could have told me so I wasn't counting on her!
