Although I don't not have any paid experience with elderly people I have been taking care of my grandparents since I was in high school up until I moved to Chicago. My grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease when I started high school and my mom (being a working single mother of 2) needed a lot of assistance. In the beginning it was light work just having to help him get around but as I got closer to graduating he became almost immobile and needed help doing almost everything. During my time taking care of my grandfather I assisted in driving him to doctors appointments, picking up his medication, cleaning up around the house, and preparing his meals.
