I was given the opportunity to spend time with Kayla while living in Ashland, WI, where Kayla and I attended the same college and played soccer together. Ever since I met Kayla, I have been wowed by her gentle kindness, attentiveness, and by her passion. Kayla was one of the strongest and hardest working players on our team yet always retained a sensitivity and awareness that many players lost in the heat of the moment. I believe that Kayla brought these characteristics onto the field because this is simply how she lived her life. Strength, hard work, kindness, and mindfulness are four words that I would use to describe Kayla. I've never had anything bad to say about her. I would trust her with any of my loved ones, and would feel lucky to be in her care myself.
