About Kayla

I'd describe my personality as kind, outgoing, and thoughtful I like tutoring because I love being able to build relationships with students and watch them make connections that they may not have been able to make on their own. It is so fulfilling to see a student grow while I have facilitated their learning. I'm looking for a job that allows me to work with students one on one in a way that is engaging and student-focused. I started tutoring when I was working at school district in Houston. I have tutored on and off for about three years. I used to tutor students who needed extra help on tests and students who struggled with writing. In my spare time, I like to read books and play games. One thing you should know about me is I am currently a Chicago Public Schools teacher and I have a lot of knowledge and experience with English Language Arts and test prep. My skills include test prep, building writing skills, and helping build student confidence.
