About Kayla

Hi! I am an enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a wide range of experience in various types of classrooms. I received my degree in Childhood and Special Education from New York University, which included four student-teaching placements in New York City public schools. Since graduation, I have worked to gain experience in many different educational settings. I have worked as a preschool teacher, as a literacy teacher for English Language Learners, and as a long-term substitute teacher in Simsbury Public Schools. I have gathered many valuable tools for making learning engaging and effective. Especially during this time of so much uncertainty, I hope to make learning a joyful experience! In addition to in-home teaching, I am also happy to help in any way you need!
