About Katy

Empowering students to move beyond rote memorization is the foundation of my teaching practice. With a graduate degree and a year of experience, I specialize in making History engaging and accessible for elementary through high school students. I assess your unique learning style through active listening and open communication, ensuring my methods resonate with you. When concepts feel challenging, I break them into manageable steps and connect them to real-world interests to spark curiosity. I believe clear, consistent dialogue with both you and your parents is essential for building trust and achieving your academic goals. Nothing is more rewarding than witnessing that "aha!" moment when a complex idea finally clicks. Whether we meet at your home, online, or a local library, I am dedicated to fostering your long-term success. I truly look forward to helping you discover your potential and building your confidence as a learner.
