About Katie

I am a 28-year-old female from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I have been in New York City for 3 years, and loved every second of it! I am seeking a child care position with flexible hours/part-time/last minute/weekends/summer jobs. I currently work for an artist but he travels so much that I am available many times over the summer due to absence therefore able to work full-time. I have many years of experience babysitting back home in Ireland. I worked at a day care center for 4 years, caring for children from the age of one to four. I then attended University in England to study Pediatric nursing for four years. I feel these experiences have enables me to have a positive attitude towards life and an understanding of family dynamics as well the importance of early childhood development. I have nannied full-time for a 2-year-old girl in Park Slope and more recently for a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old in Montclair, New Jersey. This was a live in role. I have experience with infants of all ages from my experiences nursing, babysitting, day care and Au Pairing, and caring for children with special needs/chronic illness. I am competent in feeding children, cooking healthy meals, administering medications, bathing, bedtime routines, incorporating play to meet educational needs and having fun!
