About Katie

I love to read and find great joy in inspiring children to find the joy in reading as well. Following college, I had the joy of tutoring several struggling readers during the summer. Then, I moved on to teaching professionally in the classroom with a focus on helping young learners overcome reading challenges. From there, I had the joy of teaching my own 5 children how to read. Each learner comes with their own sets of strengths and weaknesses. When reading is challenging, it can quickly become a battle and no one wants to do something that feels like a fight. My philosophy is to tailor tutoring lessons to the interests of each child so that they can truly enjoy the process. I would love to be a part of helping your child find the joy in reading!
